Eshopbox enables brands to explore multichannel commerce with its fulfilment infrastructure and technology platform

New-age ecommerce merchants tend to take a multichannel approach to sell their merchandise; this means that their products would be listed on different marketplaces like Amazon, Flipkart, Myntra, Nykaa, Ajio, and more along with their brand website simultaneously. This poses various challenges for businesses, such as making their products available on multiple platforms, fulfiling orders accurately and fast, and reconciling various payments and fees.

Implementing a multichannel approach without the right technology and fulfilment infrastructure would be naive, and more often than not, businesses struggle to deliver a delightful shopping experience for their customers.

Eshopbox provides end-to-end ecommerce solutions for businesses through its technology platform and distributed network of fulfilment centres. Businesses of all sizes, from startups like Oziva, Meraki, and Plum to enterprises like Clarks, Blackberrys, Raymonds, and more leverage Eshopbox to streamline their ecommerce operations.

Eshopbox offers three primary services that help brands streamline their ecommerce operations:

  1. Sell products

Businesses should have integrations with the sales channels where they wish to list their merchandise. These integrations allow brands to sync inventory automatically across various channels, fetch orders when placed, and notify customers with periodic order updates; which is imperative when adopting a multichannel sales strategy. However, these integrations are time-consuming, require dedicated developer effort and ongoing management.

Additionally, to access seller privileges, brands are forced to dedicate their inventory to an individual marketplace. For instance, to enable Amazon Prime for its product listings, a business needs to send it's inventory to an Amazon fulfilment centre; this inventory is then committed to customers shopping on Amazon.

Eshopbox has more than 40 pre-built integrations with leading marketplaces and shopping cart. In addition to this, more than 18 million products are currently listed on the Eshopbox platform. Retailers just have to import their product catalog and send their inventory to Eshopbox fulfilment centres. This enables brands to centralise their inventory for better sales throughput; this means they can use the same inventory pool to sell across their website and marketplaces like Amazon, Flipkart etc. Brands will also have access to seller privileges like Amazon Prime and Flipkart assured, ensuring product visibility even in the most competitive marketplaces.

  1. Fulfil orders

In modern-day ecommerce, it is mandatory for businesses to ensure fast and accurate order delivery for their customers. To achieve this, brands need to store products closer to their customers and have powerful order processing workflows in-place.

Order volumes fluctuate at a daily level. Brands should also be equipped to handle variability in order volumes effectively, especially when it peaks exponentially during flash sales and promotional events. This requires considerable human resource and capacity planning.

Eshopbox has fulfilment centres spread across India; this enables brands to distribute their inventory. It also helps drive down shipping costs and delivery time. Along with this, Eshopbox has an on-time order processing rate of 99.63%, with 47% of these orders being fulfilled with a promise of 2-day delivery.

In addition to this, brands get access to scalable storage space and resource allocation to meet their customer demands.

"Creating a fulfilment infrastructure requires an exorbitant amount of capital investment along with dedicated human resources for management and operations. This isn't feasible for most businesses, and we want to make sure it doesn't become a barrier for businesses looking to venture into ecommerce"

-Rishab Khanna, Product Manager at Eshopbox

  1. Reconcile payments

Marketplaces have complex fee structures - some of which are fixed, some are variable, and some are only applicable in specific scenarios. Businesses need to allocate considerable resources to check whether their fees are reconciled. This means verifying every expense against the invoice raised by the marketplace and identify overcharges if any.

It is seemingly impossible for brands to keep track of their payments manually, especially when using more than one channel to sell their merchandise. Traditional ecommerce accounting systems are inefficient and incapable of handling multichannel reconciliation.

Eshopbox helps businesses keep track of all their ecommerce payments and marketplace expenses from a single point-of-control by digitising their commercial agreement with the marketplace. This enables businesses to be aware of what they owe and what they are owed at all times. Over the last year, Eshopbox has reconciled transactions amounting to more than INR 1.1 billion.

"We are experiencing a transition from a traditional supply chain to an integrated and responsive supply chain. To thrive in this ecommerce ecosystem businesses must find innovative, cost-effective and tech-first solutions"
